Aqua One pH Up Powder 500g is a safe and effective way to increase pH in fish tanks and garden ponds. pH is how we measure the acidity or alkalinity of water — and keeping it stable is crucial to your fish’s health. It’s one of the first things we test here in-store, and we recommend you do the same at home regularly.

If your water is too acidic (i.e. pH is too low), this product helps bring it back to the ideal range for your fish species.

❓ What is pH?

pH is measured on a scale from 0–14. A pH of 7 is neutral. Below 7 = acidic. Above 7 = alkaline.

Each fish species has different preferred pH ranges:

• Tropical fish: often prefer slightly acidic water (around 6.5)
• Koi and goldfish: generally prefer neutral to slightly alkaline water (7.0–8.0)

Knowing the preferred pH range of your fish is the first step to testing and controlling this parameter!

⚗️ How to Use Aqua One pH Up Powder

pH is measured on a logarithmic scale. That means each full unit change (e.g., from 6 to 7) represents a 10x change in acidity or alkalinity. A pH of 8 is 10 times more alkaline than 7 — and 100 times more than 6!

That’s why pH must be adjusted slowly and carefully.

1. Test your pH with a test kit like this one. Compare your results with your fish’s ideal range.
2. Dosage: Use 2g of pH Up Powder per 40L of water to raise pH by approximately 0.4 in 24 hours. For example, 24g treats a 500L pond going from pH 6.0 to 6.4.
3. Application: Dissolve the powder in a container of tank or pond water. Slowly pour it around the pond — don’t dump it in one spot.
4. Re-test after 12–24 hours and repeat if needed until your desired pH is reached.
