Beneficial bacteria is one of our best trade secrets when it comes to keeping a crystal-clear and healthy pond. Beneficial bacteria helps break down sludge, remove harmful pollutants from your water, and prevent cloudy or murky conditions. In nature, this bacteria is everywhere but in our backyard ponds, we sometimes need to give it a helping hand. There are lots of bacteria products on the market, but we’ve found BBA to be one of the best. We use this product in-store and during our pond maintenance jobs all the time. BBA Bacteria is up to 20x stronger than most other strains available, and the results show.

Most beneficial bacteria are only active within certain temperature ranges. During winter, they often become inactive as the water is too cold. This new BBA Cold Active Bacteria strain is a real game-changer for the colder months.

BBA Cold Active Beneficial Bacteria uses a specialised psychrophilic strain that will be active at temperatures below 4°C.

We recommend it for anyone wanting to maintain water clarity and biological balance throughout winter. 

How It Works

• Rapidly sinks to the bottom of the pond on application, targeting pollutants and sludge where they accumulate.
• Breaks down organic waste including toxic ammonia, nitrates and phosphates (what algae feeds off!) 
• Supports a healthy biological ecosystem, ensuring long-term water clarity and a healthy pond environment.

Directions for Use

• Dosage rate: 50g per 1000L of water. This product is able to be overdosed (within reason), feel dree to double or triple this dosage rate for your first application or for ponds that are particularly mucky.
• We recommend pouring your bacteria directly into the filter; otherwise, just spread it evenly across the pond. Apply evenly over the pond surface or directly into pond filters for best results.
• Avoid using alongside chemical treatments such as algaecides where possible, this may reduce its effectiveness
