Solar pond pumps

Solar pond pumps are a great way of getting your fish pond water moving and oxygenated without using electricity.

They are great for people who cannot get power near the pond and those who want to avoid relying on the electricity grid.

Our models all come complete with a quality solar panel and a battery, meaning they can pump water into the night.

Most shops only sell the pond pump and panel, without the battery!

Our solar-powered pond pumps vary in water flow, so please read the flow rates and maximum head heights carefully. Keep in mind that the max head height is the maximum height at which that particular pump will actually stop flowing. So if you have a 1-metre head waterfall, then do not get a pump with a maximum head height of 1 metre!

Solar air pumps and water pumps are also great insurance for your prized pond fish’s health. On very hot days, oxygen levels within a pond can drop. If you have a blackout on a very hot day, and lose all aeration and water flow, then fish can start dying very quickly! Solar is the best way to keep the water well-oxygenated in the meantime and is a must-have for all pond fish enthusiasts.

Ideally, pond filtration systems in ponds should run 24/7 so we normally do not recommend solar for pond filtration where power is available nearby.
