Fluval plant and shrimp stratum 

Fluval stratum is a mineral-rich all-natural volcanic aquarium substrate directly sourced from Japan’s Mount Aso Volcano.

Recommended for freshwater planted aquariums and aquascapes and designed specifically to provide optimal conditions for plants and shrimp. Its light, non-compacting and porous structure allows for rapid colonisation of nitrifying bacteria, aiding in the cycling of your aquarium as well as providing the ideal base in which your plants can root.

Maintains a neutral to slightly acidic pH suitable for most plant, tropical fish and shrimp species. It also provides a good habitat for newborn shrimp to shelter and avoid predation within the aquarium.

This rich attractive substrate will not discolour water and aids in controlling organic discolouration from driftwood.

we recommend creating a depth of at least 3cm when using this substrate. One 2kg bag will cover tanks smaller than 45cm (15L).
