The OASE AquaMax Eco Premium 13000 is a high-performance, energy-efficient pond pump, this is our go to range for most pond filtration set-ups (if you want a more affordable version with fewer of the premium features, check out the OASE Aquamax Eco Classic range). German-engineered and built to last, it’s ideal for medium to large ponds.

Like all models in the Eco Premium range, it features a dual inlet design, meaning it draws water from two locations: the main top cage (which can be removed to create another plumbed inlet) and a secondary side inlet.

We typically recommend this pump for three types of customers:

1. Large ponds with stagnant areas

The dual inlet allows you to attach a satellite strainer that draws water from another area of the pond and sends it to the filter. This is an awesome feature for large ponds that develop “dead zones” with little water flow where sludge and debris can accumulate. A secondary inlet ensures all that waste is carried to the filter where it belongs.

2. Ponds with lots of leaf litter and debris

If your pond collects a lot of leaves, you can connect a pond skimmer to the secondary inlet. The skimmer draws in floating leaves, uneaten food, soil, and other debris from the surface, trapping it in a basket that can be easily emptied into the garden. This significantly reduces sludge and muck buildup at the bottom of the pond.

3. Those wanting a super energy-efficient pump

The OASE brand is usually your most energy-efficient option when it comes to all of their pond pumps.  but the AquaMax Eco Premium range is the best. Running at only 16-100 watts (compared to 150–200W in similar models), it uses much less power while maintaining the same performance.

It also features automatic seasonal flow control, reducing flow rate and power consumption as water temperatures drop in winter when less circulation is needed. This helps save even more energy and supports your pond’s natural seasonal rhythm.

It also includes a grounding plate for added electrical safety, which will trip your circuit before any live current reaches the water in the event of a power fault or surge from another device like a light or pump.
