Genuine OASE Filtral 1500 Replacement Sponges

This genuine OASE replacement sponge set will fit into the Filtral 1500 all in one pond filter. We usually see these sponges lasting a couple of years if looked after well. Ideally you should be cleaning your filtral sponges at least once a month.

It’s super simple to do! Just unclip the top of your filter, remove the sponges and give them a squeeze in a bucket of your pond water to get the bulk of that sludge build up out. Then replace them and clip the filter back up… that’s it! And the dirty sludge water is excellent for your garden.

If you clean your sponges by hosing them, we recommend adding beneficial bacteria to the water after cleaning as the chlorine in our tap water will kill off all of the good bacteria that has accumulated in the filter. These bacteria are what do the bulk of your purification so its important to add them back in. Our favourite bacteria is this one: BBA Bacteria
