Sinking fish pellets

Sinking protein fish feed is great for providing a balanced diet to carnivorous types of fish such as Australian natives. It is also a good growth pellet for a range of fish including koi and goldfish in warmer months. These pellets are loaded with protein, so are a great option to feed your fish.

This food is suitable for most types of fish, however if you are using these pellets for your koi, only use them in the warmer months when the fish are eating and growing more.  We would recommend floating pellets to be used in the wintertime where they can be better digested.

Our ORCA-branded sinking fish food pellets are high in quality and protein and won’t turn your water cloudy after feeding! We feed these to all of our Australian native species to keep them happy and healthy (most native fish are carnivorous, so they benefit from the high protein of these pellets). If you have small koi/goldfish you are hoping to grow quickly, these pellets are perfect to help them reach those impressive sizes much faster. Due to the metabolism of these species, we only advise you feed them sinking pellets during the warmer months when they are better able to metabolise them.

How much should I be feeding my fish?

Feed your fish only what they will totally consume within 1-2 minutes.

Overfeeding fish is one of the biggest killers of fish! Excess food pollutes the water and leads to problems such as high ammonia and nitrates, low oxygen levels and algal blooms.

Your pond is an ecosystem, and fish will find some food within the pond such as algae, insect larvae etc.

Only purchase good quality sinking fish pellets! Poor quality pellets will pollute your water and lead to poor fish health.  We also recommend mixing in some finely chopped kitchen vegetables weekly as well.  Maybe just for 10 – 20% of their diet.  They will love you for it 🙂
