ClearTec ultra violet clarifiers for use in ponds to eliminate water-born floating algae which will turn the pond water green and starve it of oxygen. Algae as well as plants compete with the fish for the oxygen available within the pond at night. This oxygen produces during the ‘daytime’ cycle of photosynthesis. Reducing the algae within the pond allows the fish to breathe easier minimising stress and the risk of disease.

UV filters are the best option when it comes to ponds that are having problems with green water.  The UV light kills single-celled algae in the pond, eliminating green water and keeping it crystal clear. The UV rays will also kill off harmful bacteria and microorganisms allowing only purified water to exit the system. It’s important not to exceed the recommended maximum flow of your pump when using these filters. If water flows past the UV light too fast, it will be much less effective.
